10 minutes west along the coast road from Palma De Mallorca are the well appointed areas of Portals Nous and Puerto Portals. Portals Nous is a very popular residential area comprising mostly family homes with some upscale villa properties. Portals Nous has a wonderful community atmosphere with excellent shopping ranging from book stores through local food stores and cafes to upmarket designer boutiques. Portal Nous is not short of bars and restaurants either with some wonderful Spanish and international cuisine on offer both around the main square and beyond.

A few minutes’ drive further west is the exclusive marina of Puerto Portals. Considered one of the best, and most desirable, places to moor a boat in the Mediterranean property here consists mainly of 1 and 2 bedroom modern apartments located in and around the marina. Puerto Portals provides moorings for some of the most beautiful, and expensive, boats on the island with shopping and dining facilities to match. The quayside is lined with fashionable boutiques, super-yacht brokers and fine dining. Local restaurant ‘Tristan’ has two, highly deserved, Michelin stars and is considered perhaps the finest restaurant on Mallorca. There is also a lovely, sandy beach adjacent to Puerto Portals that serves both the port and the village.
